What do I need to do if I cannot make my appointment?
If you cannot make your appointment, please contact us on 02 6162 1886 as soon as possible so that we can reschedule your appointment and put someone else into the time slot. There may be a fee charged if you fail to attend an appointment without providing sufficient notice.
What do I need to bring to the exercise stress echo?
Please bring along comfortable clothing that you would use as if you were exercising. This includes runners or other comfortable footwear. Please also bring a large towel.
Do I need to stop aspirin before my Coronary Angiogram or Coronary Stenting Procedure?
No, you should not stop aspirin before your angiogram. If you are also on clopidorel or ticagrelor these medications should also continue. They can be taken on the morning of your procedure with a small sip of water.
How long does an Echocardiogram appointment take?
The appointment lasts anywhere between 45-75 minutes.
Do I need a referral to see the cardiologist?
Yes, you will require a referral from your General Practitioner (GP). The validity of the referral lasts 12 months, after which you will require a new referral from your GP. It should be noted that referrals from another specialist only last for 3 months.
To make an appointment with one of our cardiologists:
- You will need to have a referral from your local General Practitioner (GP)
- Thereafter, you may ring us to make an appointment. Alternatively, your GP may fax the referral through to us. It is now also possible for your GP to fill in your referral on-line via our website.
- We will be in touch with you as soon as we have received the referral to schedule an appointment.
- A letter or an email will be sent to you with the appointment confirmation and a PIS (Patient information sheet) form for you to fill. You can now fill in your Patient Information Sheet on-line via our website.
